Our story

In the heart of the Kent countryside, in the village of Boughton Monchelsea, Phil and James Catt are bringing new life to a centuries-old tradition. Alongside their thriving wholesale business, the cousins have been carefully cultivating Ragstone Ridge – a 20-acre vineyard first planted in 2019.

Here, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Bacchus grapes flourish, each season bringing them closer to their vision of creating exceptional Kentish wine.

History and heritage

  • East Hall Farm

    With a rich history of winemakers residing at East Hall Farm, we wanted to revive the legacy and continue the tradition of winemaking in the area.

  • Keeper of the pipe

    In the 1600s, Wierton’s East Hall House was home to Thomas Barham, the ‘keeper of the pipe,’ who oversaw the area’s wine trade.

  • Old pipe reserve

    The Old Pipe Reserve pays homage to Kent's winemaking legacy, a nod to centuries of craft, revived for a new generation of wine lovers.
